Murmur x OpenAI

OpenAI collaborated with RCAs IDE program to research the future of interface design. Asking the question: "In the world of AI, what is the future of GUI?" Our team's response = Murmur: A silent AI companion integrated in the form of an elegant bracelet.

Screenless UIs as the new frontier for HCI, and progress in haptic hardware + AI advancements make personalized and intelligent interactions possible. Together, these technologies create a timely opportunity to build meaningful alternatives that don’t rely on screens….but rely on play.

Murmur is passively always listening, but can only communicate through one means; haptics. Only through wearing the bracelet can users build a relationship / language with their Murmur. Over time, different touches, vibrations, and rythhms will develop different associations, and a language between user and bracelet will emerge.

A quick sprint which ended with each team presenting their research and discovery to the SF based design team at OpenAI.
